The Township of North Kawartha is pleased to advise that the unofficial results for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election are now available.

Electors may view the unofficial election results on the Township website at www.northkawartha.ca/election 

The unofficial results are provided for information purposes only and remain subject to final verification and certification.

Official election results will be announced and posted on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

The Township would like to thank all eligible electors who participated in the election.

Today, Monday, October 26, 2026, is Election Day in North Kawartha and your final opportunity to cast your ballot in the 2026 Municipal Election.

Voting is available until 8:00 p.m. and electors may cast their ballot using any of the following methods:

• Online
• By Telephone
• In Person using Internet or Telephone Voting Kiosks at the Municipal Office

Voter Help Centre

 The Voter Help Centre at the North Kawartha Municipal Office is open today from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to assist electors with voting-related questions, voter information updates, replacement Voter Information Letters, and access to voting kiosks.

Compass Early Learning and Care Bringing New Outdoor-Focused Child Care Program to Apsley

APSLEY, ONTARIO — Compass Early Learning and Care is excited to announce the upcoming Compass Early Learning and Care – Apsley Outdoor program, a new early learning and care program in the heart of Apsley, Ontario.

The Township of North Kawartha has mailed Voter Information Letters to all registered voters for the 2026 Municipal Election.

Most voters can expect to receive their letter during the week of October 5, 2026. If you have not received your Voter Information Letter by October 9, 2026, please contact the Township at 705-656-5189 or voterhelp@northkawartha.ca.

Voting Period

Voting opens at 10:00 a.m. on October 13, 2026, and remains open until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, October 26, 2026.

Internet and telephone voting are available throughout the voting period, allowing voters to cast their ballot at a time that is convenient for them.

How to Vote

The Township of North Kawartha offers two methods of voting:

• Internet Voting
• Telephone Voting

Voting Kiosks Available

Residents who require access to a computer, internet connection, or telephone for voting may visit the Municipal Office located at:

Voting kiosks will be available during regular business hours throughout the voting period. On Election Day, October 26, 2026, voting kiosks will be available until 8:00 p.m.

Voters are encouraged to keep their Voter Information Letter in a safe place. The letter contains the information required to access the Internet and Telephone Voting system.

The Township of North Kawartha advises residents, businesses, and visitors that the municipal lot located at 143 Burleigh Street, Apsley, will be temporarily closed to the public beginning October 13, 2026, until approximately November 27, 2026, to facilitate a construction project to establish an asphalt parking lot.

Alternative public parking is available at 135 Burleigh Street, Apsley.

During this period, the municipal lot will be closed to the public while construction activities are underway. 

Members of the public are reminded to use caution when approaching the construction work zone and to remain aware of Township staff, contractors, construction vehicles, and equipment operating in the area.

The Township of North Kawartha, in consultation with Peterborough County, advises residents, businesses, and visitors of upcoming construction activities related to the development of a new asphalt parking lot at 143 Burleigh Street, Apsley. 

Construction is scheduled to begin during the week of October 5, 2026, and is anticipated to continue until November 30, 2026, weather permitting. 

During construction, motorists should expect single-lane road restrictions in the area of the construction project, which may result in temporary traffic delays. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly and exercise caution when travelling through the construction zone.
